Central Park

Maple Grove, MN

As a member of the Damon Farber team, I helped take the schematic design of a $16 million, 40-acre community park through the final stages of design development submittals, and ultimately through a 100% construction document set. I worked on various aspects of the project, providing technical expertise and problem-solving efforts. My primary responsibility was to complete all drawings related to surface and structural elements, and complete all non-plant-related construction details.

The park features a pavilion, an interactive fountain, skate trail loop, playground, sport courts, a great lawn, formal gardens, labyrinth, pond, and miles of paved trails.

Due to the complexity of the project, there were many potential conflicts between utility, structural, and landscape elements, especially in the areas of the pavilion, splash pad and skate trail loop. These conflicts were identified during the construction document portion of the project, and adjustments and compromises were made to retain the landscape design intent without compromising functionality or utility.
