Target Field Station
Minneapolis, MN
This urban transit plaza boasts the first, year-round stormwater and snowmelt runoff system in Minnesota. The system redirects approximately one million gallons of stormwater runoff per year from the upper level plazas, green roofs and light rail station bridge. The stormwater is stored in large cisterns then routed to the Hennepin Energy Recovery Center (HERC), a nearby waste-to-energy facility that burns municipal waste to generate energy. The HERC treats the stormwater and uses it within their facility.
As an independent contractor with SEH, I worked to address design challenges associated with the plaza, and completed construction documents.
