Maple Grove Central Park*

Sub-contracted by Damon Farber, I prepared 100% CD drawings for all hardscape related landscape drawings, and developed construction details throughout the entire project. I contributed a number of design solutions that supported the delivery of a successful and award winning park project.

Friends of the kinni

The City of River Falls, Wisconsin is pursuing the removal of two hydroelectric dams in order to restore a stretch of the Kinnickinnic River, a world class trout fishing stream. The images above represent preliminary ideas commissioned by Friends of the Kinni, a local citizens group, for extending trail networks and public recreation facilities along the corridor.

Target Field Station*

This urban transit plaza boasts the first, year-round stormwater and snowmelt runoff system in Minnesota. As an independent contractor with SEH, I worked to address design challenges associated with the plaza, and completed construction documents.

Jones Hall East Courtyard

Jones Hall is the front door of the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus. It houses the admissions center, which provides all campus tours and welcomes all incoming freshmen. Over the past 3 years, a significant amount of work has gone into enhancing the landscape surrounding the building.

Rapson Hall Prairie

An under-utilized wedge of turf, on the east side of Rapson Hall, was converted to a prairie landscape that utilizes a native seed mix in combination with a particular cultivar of Big Bluestem grass.

Mondale Hall Meadow*

Roughly an acre of turf lawn was converted to a combination of low-input landscapes, including rain gardens, “no-mow” fescue lawn, and a large meadow.

Pleasant Street Entry garden

The intersection of Pleasant Street and University Avenue SE is the primary entrance to the University’s East Bank campus. A new entry garden was conceived to showcase seasonal inetrest.

Green Infrastructure Prototypes* 

Local streets in established urban neighborhoods present a great opportunity to address water quality and rainwater run-off.

Front Street*-Mankato

South Front Street, in the heart of the entertainment district of Mankato, was reconstructed to promote pedestrian safety and improved aesthetics. Urban design amenities were used to activate the street.

Cascade Av*-River Falls

A six block stretch of Cascade Avenue in River Falls was reconstructed in 2012 with the goals of pedestrian safety and generating greater exposure to the University of Wisconsin - River Falls, which borders the street.

Bass Lake Road*-Brooklyn Center

The redevelopment of Bass Lake Road between Brooklyn Blvd. and Highway 100 addressed stormwater runoff by pitching water towards the medians, capturing it in swales and filtering it through a series of rain gardens.

Cherokee Hotel & Casino* - Cherokee, NC

Cultural symbolism was used in developing sculptural elements for a Creek Walk.

Pocket Park* - Nisswa, MN

A new downtown park was created as part of the adjacent Hwy 371 reconstruction project. The park provides an ADA connection to local trails via ramps and an underpass beneath the highway.

Whiting Lakefront Trail* - Whiting, IN

The Whiting Lakefront Trail, a segment of the Marquette Greenway in northern Indiana, connects the Lake George Trail to the shores of Lake Michigan.

Beacon Hill Courtyard* - Lombard, IL

Part of a building expansion project, the newly designed courtyard provides custom amenities, including water features, outdoor fireplace, fencing, and lighting.

Parley Finch Plaza* - Humboldt, IA

A building demolition project in the core of the City’s central business district became a treasured civic space, creating an asset from a former liability.

Mining Reclamation Plan* - Kasota Township

A reclamation plan was developed, focussing on prairie restoration, wetland habitat restoration, and recreational activities.

Pillsbury Campus Master Plan* - Owatonna

Conceptual design options for a former bible college campus.

Nice Ride* - Minneapolis

Project launch and phase 1 layout plans for kiosk locations.
